Citing officials briefed on the U.S.-China trade talks, "the punitive tariffs the governments slapped on each country’s goods in the conflict stand as a major obstacle," The Wall Street Journal reported on Tuesday as markets are waiting for headlines coming out of this week's high-level talks between Chinese officials and U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer and Treasury Secretary Mnuchin.
