US stocks end August with sharp losses
FXStreet (Córdoba) - US stocks fell on Monday to close August with sharp losses weighed by concerns over Chinese slowdown and uncertainty about the timing the Federal Reserve plans to begin raising rates.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell about 114.98 points, or 0.69%, to 16,528, ending August with a 6.6% monthly loss, its largest since May 2010. The S&P 500 dropped 16.69 points, or 0.84%, to 1,972. The Nasdaq Composite lost 51.82 points, or 1.07%, to 4,776.
